The cutting horse season is officially in full swing, and Metallics MVP is starting 2026 in the winner’s circle. At the second big aged event of the year, MVP offspring Pump the Breaks rose to the top at the Bosque Ranch Winter Bash, stacking big scores across divisions and closing out the week with a championship win.
From Next in Line to Winner’s Circle
What makes this win even more special is the journey behind it.
This 2021 mare was one of the original horses featured in our Next in Line series, where we highlighted promising young MVP offspring just beginning their show pen careers. Fast forward to today, and she’s excelling at the highest levels of competition.
Watching these young horses mature into proven performers is one of the most rewarding parts of following Metallics MVP’s legacy.

Big Scores Across Divisions
The weekend kicked off strong when the mare marked an impressive 218.5 in the Open go round with Grant Setnicka, showcasing her athleticism, cow sense, and confidence against some tough competition.
But she wasn’t done yet.
Coming back with her owner, John Kratzer, she powered into the Amateur Classic Challenge Finals before laying down an incredible 221 in the Unlimited Amateur Classic Challenge Finals, earning the championship win and taking home $9,000!
